ABSTRACT:
The rapid and ongoing advancement of modern technology has intensified concerns regarding its effects on ecosystems and environmental health. Every organism occupies a specific role within the food web, contributing to ecological balance. However, increasing exposure to electromagnetic radiation generated by electronic devices such as mobile phones, computers, and Wi-Fi routers, as well as by transmission towers for television, radio, cellular networks, and power lines has raised serious environment concerns. Birds plays a crucial role in maintaining plant diversity and occupy higher trophic levels within ecosystems. Due to their high sensitivity to electromagnetic radiation, birds are considered particularly vulnerable to its effects. Growing scientific attention has focused on the potential influence of EMR exposure on avian population, behavior, nest building capability, reproductive success, and migration patterns. This article provides a theoretical review of existing literature examining the effects of electromagnetic radiation on birds. While also, the factors affecting bird population, health and migration are discussed in this article.
